W&G Represents CFC in Obtaining Unconditional FCC and British Virgin Islands Government Approvals to Acquire ICC Businesses
W&G successfully represented National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation in obtaining unconditional approval from the FCC and the British Virgin Islands Government for CFC’s acquisition from Stan Springel, as Chapter 11 trustee for the bankruptcy estate of Innovative Communication Corporation, of the principal telecommunications and cable television providers in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the principal cable television provider in the British Virgin Islands.

Four W&G Lawyers Named in Washington’s Best Lawyers
Four attorneys from Wiltshire & Grannis LLP have been recognized in the 2010 edition of Washington D.C.’s Best Lawyers. John T. Nakahata, William M. Wiltshire, and Christopher J. Advisory: Prepaid Calling Card Company Settles with FTC for $1.3 Million
The Federal Trade Commission announced this week that a major U.S. distributor of prepaid calling cards, Clifton Telecard Alliance One, LLC (CTA), has agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the FTC last year. The FTC charged CTA and its owner, Mustafa Qattous, with misrepresenting the minutes available on its calling cards and charging hidden fees.

W&G Partner Chris Wright Named President-Elect
of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court
Wiltshire & Grannis partner Chris Wright, who heads W&G’s appellate group, has been selected to serve as Vice-President of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court for 2009-2010 and as President for 2010-2011. The Coke Inn focuses on practice in the Supreme Court and other appellate courts, and its membership includes judges and academics as well as lawyers from both the private and public sectors.
