Senate Confirms Scott Blake Harris for Department of Energy Post

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 20, 2009 – The Senate has confirmed Scott Blake Harris as General Counsel of the Department of Energy, eliciting congratulations and a name change from the firm he cofounded in 1998.

Effective today, Scott Blake Harris is leaving Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis, and the firm is officially changing its name to Wiltshire & Grannis LLP.

Managing Partner Mark Grannis said, "We know Scott will do an extraordinary job for the Department of Energy, and we're all gratified to see that the Senate has agreed. He has always been a great lawyer, a great manager, and a great colleague. Nothing is better proof of his talents than the strong, growing, nationally-recognized firm he leaves behind."

The name change becomes official immediately. The new web address, www.wiltshiregrannis.com, has already been activated, and all firm e-mail addresses have already been changed to[oldusername]@wiltshiregrannis.com. Clients are receiving formal notice of the change today, and address change notices are being filed in pending matters.

Wiltshire & Grannis LLP is a boutique law firm with four nationally recognized practices: one of the premier communications and information technology practices in the country, a litigation practice with deep experience in both criminal and commercial matters, an appellate practice led by a former Assistant Solicitor General, and an active international trade and national security practice.
